Care Guide

A few simple habits keep leather, suede and canvas in good shape for years. Every bag we carry comes with a dust bag. Use it.

Smooth leather

Top-grain, calfskin and nappa.

  • Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth after use.
  • Condition with a neutral leather cream every few months. Test on a hidden spot first.
  • Keep out of prolonged rain and direct sunlight.
  • If it gets wet, blot gently and let it dry at room temperature, away from heaters.
  • Light colours can pick up dye from dark denim. Watch where the bag rests.

Suede and nubuck

  • Apply a suede protector spray before first use.
  • Brush with a suede brush to lift the nap after wear.
  • Use a suede eraser on surface marks.
  • Keep away from water and oil. If it gets wet, blot, let it dry naturally, then brush once dry.

Oil-waxed leather

  • Light scuffs often fade when rubbed with a clean fingertip, as the oils move back into the surface.
  • The colour deepens and the finish develops a patina with use.
  • Wipe with a dry cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners.

Canvas

  • Spot clean only, with a soft cloth and mild soap in warm water.
  • Keep cleaner off any leather trim.

Storage

  • Stuff with tissue paper and store upright in the dust bag.
  • Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct light.
  • Avoid hanging by the strap for long periods.
  • Wipe hardware with a dry cloth.
