Acid Pill (爱喜) is a Shanghai studio working in a philosophy it calls organic minimalism. The design holds back rather than pushes forward, letting material, line, and negative space do the work. There is no exterior logo.
Each bag begins in daily observation and is refined into something quietly elevated, made to slip into the rhythm of a life rather than interrupt it.
The Designer
Waiting to be understood by time
I hope that in three years, you'll still like it.
Every time I make a decision, I ask myself: if my future self is more mature, more particular, will I still like this design?
I don't chase trends. I'm taking care of my future self. Can the colors stand the test of time? Do the lines and silhouettes stay relaxed? Do the materials age like fine wine?
I'm not in a rush to be seen. I'm waiting to be understood by time.
And if in three years I could speak to the person I am now, I'd want to tell her: thank you for not settling.
The Studio
Acid Pill works exclusively in full-grain leather — the top grade of hide, kept intact rather than corrected. The studio's core material is deer velvet leather, a soft-napped hide with natural elasticity and irregular grain. From design sketch to finished piece, every product passes through at least three to five iterations.
